Privacy Policy

Effective date: 27 October 2026

This policy explains what information Where Is My Driver collects, why, and what happens to it. It covers the Where Is My Driver driver app (the “App”), this website and the web panel that transport companies sign in to. The service is provided by DARVIK INNOVATIVE PRIVATE LIMITED (“CargoRoot”, “we”, “us”).

Sections 1–7 are about the driver App: a work tool that shares a driver’s location with the transport company that assigned a trip, for the duration of that trip, and lets the driver submit proof of delivery. Section 8 covers the website and web panel.

1. Who uses the App

The App is used by drivers who have been given a trip code or trip link by a transport or logistics company (the “Company”). The Company creates the trip, decides what information it needs, and sees the trip data. For that trip data we process information on the Company’s behalf. The App does not have public accounts, social features or advertising.

2. Information the App collects

Location (only during an active trip)

While a trip is active, the App collects precise location from your device (latitude and longitude, accuracy, timestamp) including when the App is in the background or the screen is off, so the trip can be tracked from start to finish. Direction and speed are calculated from consecutive positions. Location collection starts when you start a trip and stops when the trip ends. The App does not collect location when no trip is active. A persistent notification is shown while tracking is running.

Trip information

The trip code or link you enter, and the trip details the Company provides, such as the driver name, the name you go by and the vehicle number, which are shown on the trip screens.

Proof of delivery

Photos you take with the camera, or images and PDF files you choose from your device, when you submit proof of delivery. The App only accesses the camera, photos or files when you choose to add proof of delivery, and only uploads the files you select.

Device and app information

  • Device manufacturer and model, operating system version, app version, system language and region.
  • Battery level and whether the device is charging.
  • Mobile network operator name. If you allow the optional phone permission on Android, also whether each active SIM is a physical SIM or an eSIM and its operator name. The App does not read your phone number, IMEI, call history or contacts.

Device integrity signals

To make sure trip locations are genuine, the App checks and reports yes/no signals such as: whether a location was reported by a mock-location (fake GPS) app, whether the device is rooted or jailbroken, whether developer options or USB debugging are on, whether an app is drawing over other apps, whether automatic date and time is on, whether battery optimisation applies to the App, whether the screen is locked and whether a phone call is in progress. Only the yes/no result is collected; the App does not record calls or screen content.

3. How we use the information

  • To show the Company where the trip is and when it started and ended.
  • To show the trip’s progress on a tracking link the Company may share with its customer (see section 4).
  • To record proof of delivery for the trip.
  • To detect falsified locations and keep trip records reliable.
  • To keep the App working: diagnosing problems, retrying uploads after a lost connection, and supporting the device models in use.

We do not use the information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites.

4. Who we share it with

  • The Company that assigned the trip, which sees the trip’s locations, status, proof of delivery and the device and integrity information above.
  • The Company’s customer, if the Company shares the trip’s tracking link: anyone with that link sees the trip’s live position and route while the link is on. The link shows nothing else about you, and the Company can turn it off.
  • Service providers that host and operate our servers, storage, email and maps on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

5. Storage and security

Information is sent to our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). If your device is offline, trip locations are kept temporarily in the App’s private storage on the device and deleted from the device once they have been uploaded. Session data on the device is kept in the operating system’s secure storage.

6. How long we keep it

Trip locations, proof of delivery and related device information are kept for as long as the Company’s account with us is active, so the Company can refer back to its trips. They are deleted when the Company’s account is closed and deleted, or earlier on a valid request (see section 7), unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Location, camera, photos and the optional phone permission can be turned off in your device settings at any time. Without location access a trip cannot be tracked; without camera or photo access you can still choose files.
  • Ending the trip stops location collection.
  • Uninstalling the App deletes the data stored on your device.
  • You can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your information by contacting us at info@cargoroot.com. Where the Company controls the trip data, we may pass your request to the Company.

8. The website and web panel

Demo requests

When you ask for a demo on our Contact page, we keep what you enter (your name, company, work email, phone number, fleet size, what you are interested in and any details you add) to answer your request. We email you a confirmation and keep a copy ourselves. We do not add you to marketing lists without your permission, and you can ask us to delete your request at any time.

Accounts in the web panel

Transport companies that use Where Is My Driver sign in to the web panel. We keep their users’ names, email addresses and roles, the company’s business details (such as its legal name, GSTIN and address), the vehicles, drivers and trips they add, and a log of activity in the account. Driver licence and chassis numbers are shown masked, and a driver’s date of birth is stored encrypted. Checks on vehicles, licences, FASTag, challans, e-way bills and GST registrations are made through authorised data providers when a Company asks for them, and each check is logged. Payments for credit packs are taken by our payment provider; we do not see or store card or bank details.

Cookies and browser storage

The web panel uses one cookie to keep you signed in, and stores a few display preferences (such as a collapsed menu) in your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Photos on this website are loaded from the image services that host them.

How long it is kept

A Company’s account data is kept while the account is active and deleted when it is closed and deleted. Demo requests are kept until we have dealt with them, or until you ask us to delete them.

9. Children

The App and the web panel are work tools and are not intended for anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will notify users in the App or the web panel.

The terms for using the Service are in our Terms & Conditions.

11. Grievance Officer

If you have a complaint or concern about how your information is handled, or want to use any of the rights in this policy, write to our Grievance Officer. We will acknowledge your message and respond within 30 days.
